Arsha Drishti

Arsha Drishti is a San Diego based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization started by Swami Advayatmananda Saraswati, blessed by his guru Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati, which is dedicated to the traditional teaching of Advaita Vedanta, Sanskrit, chanting, and meditation.

The Meaning of Arsha Drishti

Drishti means vision, or direct knowledge. Arsha means originating from the sages of ancient India, the Ṛṣi-s.    Arsha Drishti (आर्षदृष्टि Ārṣadṛṣṭi) is the vision, the clear and immediate recognition of the changeless truth of oneself as an inherently free and limitless being as taught in the Sanskrit scriptures – the Upaniṣads, Bhagavad Gītā, and Brahma Sūtra and others.

This timeless living teaching tradition passed down from teacher to student is known as Advaita Vedanta.  Exploring of the realities of oneself, the world, and the sacred, the teaching unfolds the vision of Advaita, non-duality, transforming the limiting notions I entertain about myself into a direct appreciation of my inherent non-separateness and wholeness.

This Arsha Drishti, this Vision of the Sages, resolves all searching into the fullness of myself, enabling me to see that I am already what I seek to become.  It is in this recognition that freedom, peace, and fullness are discovered, allowing me to simply become alive to what is, meeting life with joy, compassion and purpose.
